Thank you for the additional information.

The prosecutor's office is not going to see a conflict. If your public defender does not see that the prosecutor's representation of the grandparents in the civil action is a problem, though, it probably is not a problem you should worry about.

I recommend you concentrate instead on the criminal charges and how you can defend against them. Be sure to provide your attorney with all evidence you have and a list of any witnesses who can support your defense.

You can review all facts with another attorney if you have any doubts that your public defender is not representing you well.

Good luck.
The judge seen the conflict today, advised me to have my lawyer present facts substanting such. With out even reviewing any facts, public defender said he could get me three years adjudicated Felony. One of the jobs of the PA is to review for the possibility to drop charges if evidence shows such YET PA will not due to "it will hurt his civil case he is being paid privately to win/ present" May end up having to go with my gut and ask for a special PA and contact the ABA. Thanks

You can try the suggestions given earlier and have another lawyer in your area review the cases. You can call the William Bowen School of Law in Little Rock to see if free assistance is available. And you can request a new public defender if you believe your public defender is not helping you with your defense.

You should not call the prosecutor's office and expect satisfactory answers, however. The prosecutor is trying to prosecute you. He is not your friend. This would be true regardless of the prosecutor. It appears especially true for your prosecutor.

Good luck.

The ABA cannot do anything for you. It is simply a voluntary trade association for lawyers and has no enforcement/regulatory power whatsoever. However, Office of the Committee on Professional Conduct, which is part of the Arkansas court system, does have the power to discipline attorneys for misconduct, including prosecutors.
My error, not Wonder's. Wonder probably said "ABA" because the link I provided earlier was to the Arkansas Bar Association.

The Arkansas Bar link directed to information on filing a complaint against an attorney, with contact information for the Arkansas Supreme Court's Committee on Professional Conduct.
