What is the name of your state? oregon

I just read in an article the following:
...if you buy your own hmo policy you "can take it with your from job to job. ....Employers would make co-payments toward your own HMO instead of one at your work site. Be prepared to pay the differenceif your plan costs more".

My question is this: Is this just a hypothetical "you could" or does the law allow us to take a policy from job to job and get some co-payment at least?? Is this common?

As far as I know it's a hypothetical. However, I have no employees in Oregon so there may be something in Oregon state law about this that I just haven't picked up on. It's not common.
