What is the name of your state? CA

If a person says something bad about your friends, but does not specify which friend it is....could any of your friends legitimately claim that it is slander?

If a particular person is not named, but can be identified by what is said (or written), then, yes, that person could sue for slander. Could ALL of the friends sue? No. If the slanderous statement was not specific enough to identify one particular person, then a whole group of people can't sue just because they think the slanderous statement might be about them.
