What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? VIRGINIA

My employer will reduce my salary by 10K in 2 weeks -- I am on a contract that ends in 4 months. Now they say, they discovered an overpayment from March 2008 for $1200. They have asked me if I want to take a payroll deduction or pay it using my vacation .

If I left the company now, could they sue or demand that I pay this overpayment?

Is there anyway to fight this overpayment claim based on the timeframe? They claim they paid too much in military leave benefits.

Yes, if you quit now, they could sue you for the overpayment.

DID they overpay your military gap pay? Have they explained to you how they came to that conclusion?
