I switched homeowners insurance company on the Mar.3,2000 and my isurance with that company was due 4/4/2000 and called and told them I was switching and never heard from them again, until yesterday when I got a letter from a collection agency saying I owed 46.48 and I just don't understand. I thought when you got a notice and didn't send in your payment for insurance after it was canceled they canceled. What can I do?

My response:

This is most likely a partial premium that is due to the insurance company for coverage before the cancellation. Pay it.
