I have just recently filled for a chapter 7 bankruptcy. I went to my court hearing and the trustee wants to see my tax refund check before I cash it. When I check the status on my case it says awaiting 341 meeting. When I file my income tax, will the trustee keep my whole check and then discharge my bankruptcy?:(

Meeting the trustee was the 341 meeting... Your account status is most likely not been updated...

If the trustee wants to see your refund check, you MUST by law give it to him to look at... He may keep all of it, he may keep none of it, he may keep some of it...

It all depends on how much you owed, and how much of a refund you are getting...

341 Meeting

I'm here in Florida but what I heard our trustee tell the person before our meeting is that their refund was to be reported to the trustee and that trustee would tell that person the percentage that he had to pay the trustee.
