What is the name of your state? Texas

Over the past 2 years we have been paying attorney and court fees in a custody battle. We finally just won, and are going to adopt the child this year, but want to know if we can claim all the attorney and court fees for the past 2 years that we have paid out in order to get to this point.

Thank you for any information you may be able to offer.

You may be able to claim them as adoption expenses, but not if they were to adopt a child who was a stepchild to one of the parties.
