Contract was made between husband and photography service in Calif. His last day in basic training a charmiing, albeit sexy little number talked him into a purchase of a photography service, camera and eventual laptop computer for what appears to be an outrageous sum (3223.00 total). He recevied the camera and the photo service but the computer will not be deleivered until payment in full is received( 29 months). Now he would like to be let out of the agreement (once sober and realizing big mistake). Is there any way out of this?

Why? High pressure sales and not receiving merchandise that was ordered. Seems he has to wait for the laptop computer for 29 months or until balance is paid. I doubt there will be a computer at the end of this time period. Checked with BBB and found several complaints filed for sales technique.

My response:

The BBB is not the law. The BBB is merely a consumer "complaint" storage facility with no teeth. It is a resource that consumers use BEFORE they do business with a company.

High pressure sales tactics are not against the law. When was the last time you bought a car ?

Your "doubts" about his receipt of the computer AFTER he pays for it, is wholly and completely irrelevant.

Because of the contract he signed, he doesn't get, and is not entitled to, the computer until after all payments are made. Simple.

You have not stated any legally cognizable reason for rescission or cancellation of the debt, or of the contract as a whole.

Good luck to you.
