Can you require a rep to payback commission earned

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WI

One of our sales reps received commission on a sale that was partially refunded 45 days later. Is it legal to require them to pay back the amount that they made off the refunded amount?

The terms of the sale states there are no refunds, but we made an exception for this unhappy customer.
There is nothing outlined in the rep's commission agreement.
