I Live in Fla. Heres the question!
A friend of mne was married for 11 years to a woman who bore him 2 boys. The marriage ended badly in January of this year. The wife left the husband for a friend of there's for the last 8 years. He was friends of the couple but mostly hung out with the wife. Now the husband and wife are getting a divorce and the wife is now living with the friend and they plan on getting married next year. I heard on Oprah (dont laff) That there is a law that the husband can sue the friend. The friend was on the prowl it seems for a while after the wife! Also the friend is married and has 2 girls of his own and up and left them on a moments notice. Okay here it is in a nutshell.

Can the husband sue the friend for breaking up there marriage?
Can the frinds wife sue the other wife for breaking up there marriage?
I heard it on the TV and the Law was suppose to be on the books up in the Carolinas. I cant seem to find anything. Any help would be appreciated!

Confused in fla

I live in North Carolina and there was an article in the last month or so stating one man sued another man for breaking up his marriage and won! They called the action alienation of affection or somesuch. Basically the same thing as with your friend, the wife left her husband for a 'friend' of the family. The man won and was awarded a cash amount and his wife lost custody of the kids and was ordered to pay child support to the dad. She had been seeing this 'friend' for several years, with the husband not suspecting a thing. Maybe this helps, you could search for the article in some NC newspapers, not sure of the exact date.
