What is the name of your state? Indiana

I was just curious if this practice is legal.

My response:

Okay, I'll bite. Give us the particular facts of the situation that caused the employer to do this.

I think it's just idle threats, but for example we have work related meetings that we are supposed to go to. Some of us go and some don't. Therefore the warning. And it doesn't ncessarily have to be meetings, it could be some little chores that didn't get done...I haven't known of anyone of hasn't gotten their checks yet but I am wondering why they keep posting the threats.

My response:

Well, one reason is because the idiot who writes those memos is, in fact, an idiot. Or, another reason is that the company doesn't mind getting into big-time trouble with your State's Department of Labor if they actually carry out that threat.

I feel like a different type of reprimand would be appropriate such as getting written up or at worse fired.
Thanks for your reply.

Which maybe is why they don't follow through. However, attend the meetings and do your assigned tasks and there won't be a reason, however illegal the "punishment" may be.
