Canadian in USA getting Misdemeanor for speeding in WV

I am a Canadian that just got a speeding ticket for doing 90 in a 70, in WV. I have just realized it is a misdemeanor in WV for that amount. The officer gave me a form to fill out so I would not have to appear on the court date, he said just fill it out and they will mail you a fine. But I am seeing the fine can include jail time. My question is, does anyone know the chances of it actually including jail time or will it be just a fine? As well, will a misdemeanor mean any problems travelling back over the border from Canada to USA.

If they waived your appearance, they are waiving the possibility of giving you jail time. It will just be a fine.

The US doesn't care about traffic violations on entry to the US. It's your country that makes a big thing about blocking visitors with traffic violations, but a simple speeding ticket isn't going to make a difference even for a non-Canadian citizen visitor (DUIs will as would any "indictable" offense, what most US states call felonies).
