Canadian legal issue

Hello all - I am a Canadian citizen and resident with a fairly complex issue for which I need advice. I can of course quite clearly read the banner above that states "U.S. Law Only!", however because my issue is fairly broad and I've been having difficulty finding useful Canadian legal advice forums I was hoping I might have some success here. I will not require advice about too specific legal details, because the issue is so... um, "singular", but more general advice would still be very much appreciated (and of course our two legal systems are fairly similar). Please let me know if this is acceptable and I'll share the whole story.

Canadian law and US law are not the same. We have one poster, and one poster only, who knows Canadian employment law but there are a great many differences in the two. Our only Canadian law expert is unable to post often due to technological difficulties, although I am in fairly close touch with her on Facebook. I have no idea what she knows about medical malpractice; her area is employment law. No one else knows any Canadian law.

I mean they're similar in a very general way (common law, adversarial systems, somewhat similar ethical standards or legal philosophies). I may as well just say "imagine this scenario took place in America" and the advice would still be somewhat useful. Kind of hard to give a better explanation without actually providing all the details.

But in the US, you'd have to identify which US state, because there isn't one single set of laws.

Well I am aware what provinces and states are haha.

Yeah I looked at some other resources like what you shared there but I couldn't find any Canadian legal forums specifically, just chat lines, agencies and databases. Thought I might try my luck here. I could of course use those other resources but I prefer the forum format.

Okay. Well … good luck. Sorry we can’t be of help.

Her advice may still be useful? Like I said, my situation is more general than just medical malpractice or any other domain, she might still have something useful to say.

Obviously you're not willing to take any answer but sure, go ahead and post. So sure, go ahead and post. I'll forward the question to her when I next see her on FB and she can respond or not respond as she finds appropriate. Just don't hold your breath waiting for a response.

Sure, if you're willing to pass it along. Here it is.

Okay so this story might sound like a fever dream to some people, but if anyone is willing to take it seriously I could use some advice.
The condensed version is as follows: Several years ago I was drugged and severely abused. Following this incident I experienced a profound dissociative fugue. Upon recovering from this, I became suspicious of the people I was living with, and eventually began to question their interpretation of what occurred. I agreed to go to the hospital with them and was diagnosed with schizophrenia and briefly committed before being released as an involuntary patient on extended leave. My treatment continued for ~4 years (despite no presentation of psychotic symptoms apart from transient suspicion at the cause of the fugue state, and during which I remained fully functional as an adult, studying and/or working full time) until one psychiatrist finally discharged me completely after tapering me off the medication on his own initiative.
More recently it has come to my attention that footage of this abuse has been leaked online in some manner, and that the actual motive for the assault was to monetize it by selling it on unlisted websites. I do not currently have possession of this footage, but am looking into methods to search for it (and am pretty sure it does in fact exist). It is also extremely likely that this ordeal involved substantial cooperation with local law enforcement and doctors (at least initially), though to what extent I'm not entirely sure. Since being discharged and discontinuing the medication I have experienced no decline in functioning or psychotic symptoms.

A second point: I have also noticed that some of my social media feeds seems to be artificially saturated with disturbing content. I am aware that such feeds will naturally mould themselves around one's digital footprint, however the degree of saturation does not seem commensurate with the degree to which I have searched the relevant themes or topics, these being: powerlessness, torture, abuse, humiliation, corrupt authority figures abusing their power, and some even more specific, such as entrapped/powerless victims attempting to make covert appeals to strangers for aid. I have documented some of these if you would like to see for yourself – as a rough estimate, I'd say that %60-%70 of the content of the relevant feeds have been affected in this manner for the past 8-12 months since it's caught my attention. This could just be coincidental.

So there's the whole story. Sounds like something out of a mystery novel but it is what it is. My legal questions are:
1. How can I take legal action in a civil suit against those who committed the assault initially or disseminated it (assuming I recover the footage)?
2. How can I take legal action against the misdiagnosis? I have already looked into malpractice suits but unfortunately the direct effects of the treatment were not damaging enough for such an avenue to be financially viable. I don't know if human rights laws apply in some manner, given the rest of the details.
3. What to do about the social media manipulation? This could actually be state-abetted, given how sophisticated it seems. No idea what kind of laws even apply here.
I can answer any other questions regarding my experience if necessary.
Obviously you're first thought will be that I'm actually insane, but if you don't mind humoring me at least entertain the idea that it's a true story.

Not only is your matter a Canadian law matter, but it goes beyond the scope of this (or any) internet forum. Seek professional help (legal and/or otherwise) locally.
You are right of course, and I have already resched out to more professional organizations (lawyers, whistleblower organizations, even international organizations that provide services to torture or trafficking victims). Thought I might as well toss this into some random forums as well, even if only for more general feedback (like has anybody ever heard of this even happening to anyone before?).

Knowing our Canadian friend as I do, I think I can safely say that this is not something she can help with, and as already indicated, is beyond the scope of an internet forum.

Oh well. The more informal question could be answered though - has anyone heard of this happening to anyone before (assuming my story is not actually a delusion)?
