What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? chicago il

I recently put a bid on a house that is a 2 bed 1 ba for $25,000 now the closing date isnt until three days from now and from the inspection that i received it has way more things to get repaired the seller fixed up some thing but i found a new house for the same price but it is a 3bd 2 ba and i want to cancel my contract i only put $1200 for the earnest money will i get sued????????

Your contract probably allows them to keep your earnest money. That doesn't mean they can't sue you if they don't have damages from your breach in excess of that.
