What is the name of your state? TEXAS

It has been a year since I have seen my 3 year old son. My ex has vanished with him and the only people who seem to know where she is, is the attorney general and they won't give up her location. I have visitation rights, every weekend and every other holiday. Even when I knew where she was she would not allow me to see him knowing I could not afford an attorney. I pay almost 500 bucks a month in child support and I cannot even afford to buy my daughter with whom I get to see every day a damn highchair. Anyone have any advice on what I could do to find him and how I could force her to maintain the court order. I know an attorney is needed but I simply cannot afford one.

MY ex is a drug addict and none of the child support even goes to my son. The last time I saw him he was carrying around a spoon in his pocket in case someone fed him. She is a horrible mother and no matter how many times I turned her in nothing was done about it. She was a ward of the state growing up and now she is treated like she can do no wrong. She was even arrested for dealing drugs last year but got off because she gave up all of the suppliers in the area. I don't know what to do. She looks so innocent and plays everyone.

Please someone help.

Very strange that the AG won't reveal her location. If you have a current visitation order in place, and your CS checks are processed thru them, I would think they'd have to reveal this info. Anyways, below are some ways you can do your own "detective work". I've posted this info before, but here it is again......

1) A good detective agency could do this or if you know the social security # you could do a credit report on your own and probably find her. Also, if you have a United check cashing company near you ask them to do a trace. They have pretty good programs out there on how to find someone. Gives all known addresses, next to kin next to kin, neighbors, etc. They use it for finding peoples alias's and tracking people who write bad checks.

2) Have you used one of those online public record searches? They cost about 20 bucks for a 24hr peirod, and they are very useful.

3) Go to any good Internet Search engine (Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, etc) and type in the person's first and last name. You never know what you might find. Some of the search engines have People Finder sections that will list everybody with that name, similar names, etc. When using a people finder expect to get lots of feedback/results if the last name is common (Smith, Jones).

4) Having worked for the child support office in Texas, I can tell you that it is very, very difficult to locate someone without their SSN. Not impossible, but nearly, because most data bases used by our child support office did runs based on name and SSN (or a combination of information like name and DOB). Having just a name and previous address usually didn't do any good. Having a name and DOB is good, but still didn't always come up with any matches. Generally, SSN was the only matches that our system came up with. However, I assume that most, if not all, other state searches are automatically computer generated so if they say they can't find him, they mean their computer data base matches came up empty based on not having his SSN. That being said, here are some things you and your GF can do to possibly get more info on the ex

1. Go through everything in the house, maybe you overlooked an old payroll stub or some piece of paperwork that has the ex's SSN, old driver's license number or some other useful bit of info. Also, if she bought anything, like furniture or something, there may be info on that paperwork.

2. You should try running a search on her name on the internet using Google or some other search engine. It might be time consuming if she is mentioned more than once over the years (or has a common name) but if you find something you can at least track her movements, gather leads about where to look next and/or, possibly, get a current or semi-current location so you at least know what town to look in.

3. Use an internet phone books to look her up (try more than one). Maybe she's listed somewhere. There are some that don't require you to specify the state to do a search so you can pull up the entire country with one search. Again, it's time consuming but it is possible to methodically run her name in every state, if needed. Of course if she has a very common name, this will be problematic. Also, if her parent's names are known run an internet search on them (general and phone book), maybe they are listed somewhere.

5. If she works in fairly specialized field, run a search for all the companies that do that type of work. Maybe she's listed as an employee on their website. If she works in a very common field, this will not work and, even if it's a specialized field, they may not list their employees.

6. Pay to use a service like PeopleSearch. If you have a name and dob you might get some good results. If you have only a name it's probably not worth it. If you still can't get a lead from all of that, she may not be able to be found and hiring a private investigator again may not do any good. PI's have access to more information than a regular person but they still need something to go on. However, if you do get *some * leads but still can't find her current location, a private investigator may be able to do something with the new info. Take the new info to one and see what they say. Good Luck!

Google "death index" and put her info in there. When someone absolutely cannot be found, it might be because they are dead...
