What is the name of your state? Florida

My mother passed away last week and I can't find the will. I have 3 older sisters who are all overly eager to see what was left to them. I know my mother made one, since her health was declining the past few years, and since my sisters are in their late thirties and I'm 19, my mom wanted to ensure that I would be taken care of. We've searched through her documents and called a few lawyers she used to work with, but nothing turned up. I'm stumped on what to do next. Where can I find a copy of the will?

I'm sorry to have to ask this, but how do you "know" she made a will. Just because she intended to make one doesn't mean she actually did.

She had a stroke in 1998 and made a will once she was released from the hospital, but when I turned 18, she met with a lawyer to change it, but she never discussed what was in it with me, only that I would be taken care of if something happened.

Too bad she didn't tell you or anyone else where it was--maybe it will turn up later. But it's not really necessary. You can hire a probate attorney and get probate opened up without the will, and you sisters will inherit equally if their is no surviving spouse still living.

Do you have her old bank records? Maybe she wrote a check to this attorney?
