can't get any info on a repair item

i bought a dvd player from www.onlinecarstereo.com out of LA. i got it in a timely manner but when i installed it, i found that some key functions did not work. sent it back to the company and they told me it would take 4-6 weeks to fix. week 8 has arrived and no call or e-mail of any status info has been sent to me. called multiple times and all i get is to call back next week. called last week and was told that they would call the repair shop to get a status and then call me back with that status. 5 days went by, no call. called tonight and i got call back next week, so i talked to a supervisor that refused to let me talk and basically told me that i broke it and that he would have the status by the end of the week. basically i'm tired of dealing with these people and would just like to have the money back, which i have asked for that already and they said that is not gonna happen. was wondering what kind of rights i have to either get my money back or to make them send me mine back fixed now? i don't really wanna call them back because the guy that told me i broke it, we got into it a little bit and i'm fearful of what might happen if i do talk to him again. any advice anyone has, please share with me because i'm at the breaking point about this item i bought 3 months ago and have not been able to use :(
