What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

In April judge granted motion to vacate and set aside default and default judgement, dismiss action, and recall and quash writ of execution. All writs and levies were recalled quashed as a result of the motion being granted. My attorney at the time waited until August to send out a demand letter. No response from plaintiff. I could not afford to pay my attorney.
What can I do to get my money back?
