I was recently in an auto accident. It was the other person's fault. His insurance company is trying to tell me who can fix my car, and they are trying to fix my car. The only thing is that I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX. with less that 500 miles on it. I have a problem with them cutting my car in half and putting it back together. I did not buy the car this way . What are my legal rights?

My response:
First, you are not constrained in the law to have your car estimated and repaired by the other guy's insurane company. You can have it repaired by whomever you choose. Tell them you want the car towed to the repair shop of your choice. Second, if they have to cut your car in half, wouldn't that be considered a total loss? What's really going on here? And, why are you dealing with this matter on your own? You should be represented by an attorney, because if you're not, you're going to get screwed.
