The end of July my financee ,who is on limited income and disabled, and I met with friend in Moorhead MN to see a 1990 Dodge Grand Cavavan she had for sale. She originally told my financee she wanted 3500.00 for it. But said she had the transmission repaired and wanted 3800.00 for it. We agreed to that price and said we would give her 600.00 now then 200.00 in August to hold the vehicle till the end of September in which would pay her the balance. She promised to put the vehicle in the garage and not drive it. Since that time she has been driving the vehicle, has in fact in August made my finacee pay 169.00 for a fuel pump she had to have put in. Knowing this was indeed taking food off their table and may effect paying bills. Still claiming she wasn,t driving the vehicle only had to move it. If car was in garage dont understand moving it. I have driven by numerous times when I was in the area and the van was not there. My finacee has been trying to get a reciept from her for weeks. Yesterday she sent a paper home she has given her daughter to take to school so she could give it to my finacee daughter. Stating now that if 4000.00 dollars isnt paid by end of September we would lose all the 969.00 including amount to replace fuel pump. This is now 1000. 00 more then she asked originally. You can buy a 93 or 94 vechicle for 4800.00. The blue book is only 2995.00 for this vehicle. What can be done.

Wow!! And let me guess.... you did all of this on a handshake and a lucky charm and have ZERO documents to support any of this. Oh, and lets not forget that you don't have any written statement of the mileage at the time you gave money for this vehicle.

So, you have a choice:
1) Starting RIGHT NOW (not in 10 minutes) document EVERTHING in this deal. Dates, times, agreed prices, mileage, firm price, firm delivery date, etc. and get both parties to sign it. Don't be surprised when the seller refuses to sign the document. OR
2) Do the deal now. Establish a price for the car as of today. Then, negotiate amounts for 'rent' until September 31 and an amount for 'mileage'. Make sure that the 'seller' (now renter) is responsible for ALL maintenance and repairs as of today!! Oh, and make sure the now renter maintains insurance. Take pictures (preferred) or detailed notes of the condition of the vehicle. Make sure that the 'seller' (now renter) is responsible for returning the vehicle to you on September 31st EXACTLY as it is today or will have to pay whatever costs to make it so. Then, on September 31st, the renter will return the car and deduct from the sales price for the rent, mileage, damage, etc. at the time of return. OR
3) Call off the entire deal and ask for a FULL refund of your money paid. If you don't get it, take them to small claims court.

Wow, I really CANNOT believe that you let yourself get into a real 'stinkpot' like this!!! Just incredible!!!
