What is the name of your state? Connecticut
Our parked car started on fire and destroyed two other vehicles. One of the owners is suing us for the cost of his vehicle. They say there had been a recall but we had only owned the 15 year old vehicle for 6 months. Do they have a good chance? (we could'nt sue the previous owner, it's a relative, she says she didn't get notification of a recall).

My response:

Unless the vehicle owner is able to prove res ipsa loquitur, then it would be de minimus non curat lex, and ergo, no liability.
