In March of 2014 I bought a Car, off craigslist, after having it checked out by a mechanic. While the car needed a couple things to pass emissions, it was otherwise mechanically sound, however that doesn't speak to the biggest problem.
The car is a 1988 Mustang 5.0L gt, except after research, it seams the engine is actually from a 1980's model Lincoln towncar.
It took a while to figure out, but the car was represented as a completely original, unmolested mustang, whose engine had never been modified/changed whatsoever.
So....parts don't match, I can't go into an auto-zone and get correct parts, it can't run optimally under these conditions, but most of all I don't have idea how many miles are actually on the car.
It's caused SOOO many issues at this point, and I feel like the only choice I have, even if I just want to resell this stupid thing, is to drop 3,000 dollars on a stock engine from Ford and spend an extra 1,000 dollars swapping it in.
Do I have any chance of maybe even just having him investigated for fraud? He clearly misrepresented both the car and the whole situation.
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona
