Recently I moved to a new city and my boyfriend tagged along. Before we moved his car broke down and he decided to get rid of it. He hates driving, especially in this city where he doesn't know his way around, so he rarely ever drives. One day last week I was sick, so he took my car and went about his day.

A few days ago it dawned on us, he now has no car insurance. He cancelled it when he gave up his car. What do we do in this situation? Can he get insurance for my car? Can he drive my car with no insurance of his own?

Do you live together? Then you definitely need to add him to your policy. If you don't live together, and he truly drives the car only occassionally, he should be covered. Some policies have age stipulations on them though, so you should read this. For instance, some require that no one under 25 drives the car. Or, they may require even occassional drivers under 25 to be listed on the policy.
