-- bought car from family members girlfriend. paid $1000 she left family member now wont release the title -- only proof of purchase is word of mouth -- I have car but no title How can I title and use the car?she wont cooperate in anyway.

Did you pay her in cash? Did you get a bill of sale or anything from her at the point the money changed hands?
