Auto repair shop is scaming people

I had my car towed to a repair shop for an engine rebuild was quoted 1295.00 for the rebuild and they would split the tow I need to put 600 down which was 500 deposit and 100 for half the tow. They told me it would take 5 days to do. 10 days later they call tell me the cams and head need to be replaced and it will be 1000 more I asked for a total what I would be looking at when I pick it up. They told me 1900 . I said ok and authorized that work. 15 days later they call tell me the car is ready to pick up and it's 3300 and if I don't pick it up in 48 hours I'll be charged a storage fee on top of that. I never authorized this amount and I know this because I am borrowing the money from my friend and got off the phone and called her. I don't have 3300 nor would I of okay that amount I wouldn't of fixed the car.so what can I do please help.
