What is the name of your state?
Texas....I made a cash 'night' deposit at my bank early in the morning before work. It did not show up in my balance so when I inquired, they could not answer why and state they have to research this and get back to me. I know they have a camera surveilling the depository. I am concerned that I may not get my deposit in my balance.

Thanks for sharing your story. Now was there a question?

Yes, of course....sorry. Is there anything I can do if they say they don't have it? I NEVER deposit cash in the night deposit but this was important. I put it in at 0600 and have to be at work at 0700....I am on duty for 24 hours so there was no ability for me to get to bank during my shift. I've had to make deposits before shift in the past but used my ATM card but don't have one right now. Mine became damaged so I had reordered a new one about three days prior to this incident.

If you put it in the correct slot, then it should be there. Normally, the bank's process is to empty the night drop box and have 2 people log in and count the deposits. That's what's called "Dual Control." If they didn't log it in, then they didn't get it. Because it is cash it will be very difficult to prove that you put it in there, but you can request that the bank view their security tapes.

Fortunately for me I received a call from the supervising teller and she said that the dual control log you are speaking of showed that the cash was logged and my name and account number. However, it wasn't posted to my account, but to someone else's. So the money is now present and accounted for and all is well. Thanks for your response.....
