cease and desist letter

I have been told that i will receive a cease and desist letter from an x-friend telling me to stop texting/calling. I plan on complying and never contacting him again. If they ask me to respond, do i have to respond? I ave no plan on ever contacting this person again which would comply with what they are asking but i also do not want to set myself up for admitting to any wrong doing. I have not yet received the letter.

Why the letter?

Just wondering why you are calling/texting the ex-friend? Mine tried that line too, except that she she has 2 judgments against her and I am just trying to collect.
