i have a couple of friends that I know have been doing some things that they probably shouldn't with their cell phones. I don't want to see either of them get into trouble.

Both are California residents where the Age of Consent is 18.

The boy is 17 and had been sending the girl 14 lewd pictures including genitalia. It might be going the other way around too. Can either of them get into trouble with the law because of this? I am not really worried about parents that is their choice.

My other scenario involves the same two people and sexually explicit phonecalls. same question as before.

Thanks for any help you can give, i dont want to see either of my friends in jail or something

Both are looking at felonies for manufacture of child pornography and for distribution of child pornography. There may be additional distribution charges if they have forwarded these pictures on to others, a common occurance.

Google "sexting" for stories of recent arrests of high shool and middle schoolers.
