What is the name of your state? TN.

I live in PUD with a homeowners company and we use a management company to handle the property. All of the homeowners received a letter explaining new and much needed parking procedures. (we have a big problem with people parking on the street). Included in this packet was a census form that they stated needs to be filled out completely and returned within 30 days in order to get our new parking stickers.

This form asks for information about cars like make model color license plate # and registration #. I can understand all of this except the registration #. It also asks other information like 1) names of people in unit
2) occupation
3) company or school
4) pet's breed
5) pets name.

The letter also states that failure to return this completed form within 30 days will keep you from receiving your parking stickers and incomplete forms will be returned to you without the sticker. Having no sticker will result in a fine and the fine will double each month until you receive the sticker.

I have searched the ccr's and cannot find anywhere that gives them the right to the info requested. I can understand and dont really have a problem with the vehicle info, but the other stuff is personal and none of their business.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

This is the info they actually "need" to issue you the stickers, so I would provide truthful info without complaint on this one. The reg # doesn't make sense to me, but it might have bearing on how they ID your car.

It also asks other information like 1) names of people in unit
Manny, Moe, & Jack
Huey, Dewie & Lewie
Wayne & Garth (Party on!) :D
Be sure to use your last name for each one to give a legitimate ring to it

2) occupation
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

3) company
Murder, Inc. (see answer 2 for more details)

I'm Old School, beeyotch!

4) pet's breed
Doberman/Rottweiller/Pitbull mix

5) pets name.
Fluffy

They said it had to be complete, but they seems to make no mention of the truth or accuracy of your statements...Unless you're obligated to offer truthful information under local laws regarding this form, I say screw with them a little for asking such personal questions so you can park on your own damned street.:D
