What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado

I am having an issue with Centurylink. I discontinued my relationship with the company end of June. I paid my bill due in July in full also the end of June and then was promptly billed again for another $300 which Centurylink claims is for charges paid on my behalf in advance to Verizon and Directv. I asked for proof of payments made on my behalf which they have refused to provide. I asked for copies of my billing statements to review and they have not provided these either. Also, I am being billed by Verizon for the same time frame that Centurylink claims to have paid. I haven't seen my Directv bill yet. I am thinking of litigating this matter in small claims. Has anyone had success with suing Centurylink for unfair and deceptive billing practices? Any advise is appreciated.

Thank you,

Jessica

CenturyLink has been recognized by Colorado's Attorney General as a problem since at least 2012. Here is a link to the companies making the top ten in consumer complaints in Colorado:
http://www.coloradoattorneygeneral.gov/press/news/2012/03/05/attorney-general-unveils-top-2011-consumer-complaints

You can file your own complaint about Century Link with your AG and/or with the Department of Regulatory Agencies in Colorado: http://www.colorado.gov/dora/puc

The state of Washington fined CenturyLink $31,300 last year for overbilling its customers and I suppose you could urge your state to do the same, if Colorado is not already working toward that goal (and it might be).
