I have a child support order through the State of Illinois. I asked for a show cause on my case, since I wasn't receiving any payments. Just this past week i got a Cerficate of Income and expenses that they want me to fill out. I have called the Illinois department of Child support and no one can explain to me why I need to fill this out. They just keep telling me it is needed for my case. Does anyone know why they would need this information?

That doesnt tell me anymore then I already new. Im asking why after having this case open for over 6 years are they asking for this kind of information. I can see if i was the ncp they would want to see that, but I don't understand why they need to know what is in my checking,savings,401k etc.

You are asking why they want that info, the one and only answer is that for some unknown reason, the law requires it even in states where only the NCP's income is actually used. Don't worry, you're not the only person who doesn't understand why, but, maybe your CSE caseworker can tell you that particular office's reasons.

Thats the biggest problem. I'm unable to talk to the caseworker. For whatever reason they only give me the number the call center and no one there can answer my questions. I've tried to find the number for the office she is located at and I haven't been able to find one.

I find this highly amusing. When you open a cookbook to use a recipe and read that you are to mix well or to preheat the oven, do you call the publisher and ask why?

Silver, there ARE people who have called helplines to find out how to heat up canned vegetables when the directions didn't appear on the can.

So it's possible.

OP ~ It's because if you are entitled to information about/from the NCP, HE is entitled to the same information about/from YOU. It's called reciprocity.

NO this isn't the first time I have been back to court. Either he doesn't show up for the court hearings or the judge believes his bs story he will get a job and pay his support and they don't do anything to him.


When I'm cooking I'm not giving out my personal account information so thats totally different.
