Change Divorce to Legal Seperation

I filed for dissolution, we both came to agreement, our final court date is next week. We have been dating and I would like to change the divorce to a legal seperation. Is this possible, will it take longer now, will it cost me additional money on top of having to finish paying for the entire dissolution?

We are living seperate now and will remain that way, but I don't want to be totally divorced.

Please give any advice as soon as possible, as our court date is set for one week from today (april 14th, 2005)

My response:

Sure, you can amend your pleadings prior to final judgment. However, it would be foolish. The amendment will cost you more money, and you'll still have to split up all of your debts and assets.

All because you're divorced doesn't mean you can't date each other! And, besides, you can always remarry each other!
