Change in vacation accrued

Can an employer change the amount of vacation days accrued? This question is for a former co-worker friend. When my friend was hired, she was given an employment packet that stated the amount of vacation accrued for each of the years worked. She has now overheard others saying that there is "gossip" of the owner wishing to cut these amounts of days. Can he do this?

Unless there is a bona fide contract in place saying otherwise, yes, an employer is entitled to make changes to the benefit packages in place at any given time.

Just because there is gossip in the workplace does not mean that it is accurate.
