What is the name of your state? IN

The change of custody was August 20, 2004. Order has not been signed as of yet. When does the change of child support begin? The day the order is signed by the judge or the day of court? And if the cs doesn't begin until the day the order is signed, then who is responsible for the cs between that span?

The way it happens in my county is the CS is retroactive to the day of filing. Most likely there won't be an official order until the judge signs but I am fairly certain there will be an order for CS and one for arrears back to the date of filing.

My CS was to start from the day ordered.
However, if the judge didn't issue child support orders/changes along with the custody change, then as soon as you get the paperwork for the custody change you need to go to the CS agency and file to make the changes yourself.

Kido.... The judgement should tell you when the new CS order kicks in - if it's backdated to filing, there may be a provision for how long the payer has to pay the lump sum. If it's from the date the order is signed, then whoever was payign prior to that is responsible for CS up to that date. There's no "in between". So if he had custody and you were paying him, then you keep paying him until the effective date of the new CS order. Or vice-versa.
