i was divorced in alabama in 1999 and have 3 children, i moved to texas which is my home state. father of children still lives in alabama and childsupport is administered by the state. his job sends money to state and they send me a check. I was told that after 3 years (which will be this coming year) I can have the administration of the support moved to the state where the children reside which is texas. I was also told that the amount of support would be refigured once it was moved. was told all of this by my ex-lawyer bro-in-law so don't know if this is true. If it is how do i go about it? my reasoning is because the ex is in poor health and is about to re-marry and his future wife does not want to have the responsibility of paying his support payments. i think it would be easier for me if he wants to amend the amount of support if the case is in texas rather than alabama.
