What is the name of your state? vt...if your job changes your hours and you need to change your weekends around can the CP say no? And, if the CP says no will a court do the same? I have to work to pay CS and now my position has put me on a definate schedule which includes working the weekend I normally have the kids. I have every other weekend off and now need to switch them around. thanks Faith

either the cp would have to agree or you would have to go back to court.....courts generally want to see both parents as involved as possible so it shouldn'tbe too hard to get a modification, if you don't want to take that route, maybe take this opportunity to see what else is out there in the job market

It took me a year to get this job. I love my job. I am a nurses aide. I have been behind on cs, and do not want to get back in arrears again. Plus my supervisor is willing to give me every other weekend off if I work the weekend needed. Thanks again.

File for a modification if CP will not agree, "most times" it is not an issue...I have done so on my own twice, and sucessfully.

I would notify CP (in writing, 1st class mail, return receipt) that your weekends have changed per your employer & you'd like to switch the scheduled weekends to accomidate that. If CP balks~ File a petition for modification of visitation in court. CP will look uncooperative, as it does not take any parenting time away from them. It shouldn't be a problem to simply switch weekends...and I think there's a good chance the court would approve your request/petition.

I agree. I think, if you're the poster that I'm thinking of, that your ex WILL balk - because he seems to be rather continuously balking at anything that doesn't directly benefit him, but you should be successful doing a modification on your own, with relatively little fighting the system.
