changing a child last name

My common law husband is leaving,my son has his last name/I want to put it back to my last name/I was going by the name of Hall-Bartley,but now I am using just Hall. What right do I have/and what rights does he have as the father? Also,we introduced each other to the public as husband and wife. Help.... Help Atlanta

Without the fathers agreement it may be difficult to change the name.

As regards to rights, he has the right to have a relationship with this child.
