Changing the laws

I filed bankruptcy in 1991. At the time it was supposed to be removed after 7 years. It is still on my credit report. I am aware that the law changed but shouldn't I have been under the 7 year law? Please help with this.

I think it should be gone. Write to the credit reporting company and ask them why it is not, and if not, when it comes off.
