What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

My ex moved out of the house in October and has not lived at the residence since. We are maybe a month away from having all of the documents returned to have the house signed over to myself and to be rid of this nightmare. Twice now she has entered the property and left the place a mess.

Is it legal for me to change the locks on my property as a defensive measure to protect my assets?

She has not contributed to the mortgage whatsoever and I have been more than kind in being willing to let her off of this underwater mortgage debt free. Am I within my rights to change the locks even though both of our names are currently on the property?

**A: no is is not due to the fact that you can't lock another titleholder out. It makes no difference if she is an ex and you let her off of paying the mortgage. Is she on the mortgage loan or did you pay the mortgage loan off in full?
