I am in Tampa, Fl. My son is an eighth grader. Two of his teachers have graded him unfairly. He has a "504" to protect him but they have used it to harm him by placing an invalid entry in the plan that allow them to give 50% of his grade for any work turned in after 3 days. This is even though his absence was due to school functions because he is so gifted in the music area. This is a Magnet School that is supposed to accomodate the child's talent along with his academic success. There is a lot of other circumstances that is relevant to this situation; too much to put in here. But, the principal has tried to get these two teachers to change the grade because she knows we have a legitimate case. What is the best recourse to force a teacher to change an unfair grade, or can they be forced?
