What is the name of your state?OH

I have a chraged off credit card that has been moved around from various collection agencies. The first CA did not add any finance charges, I don't think the 2nd one did either but the CA that has it now has added over 1,000.00 in interest. When the current CA got the account my balance was about 1,500.00 and over a time period of 1yr to 1 1/2yrs. it has now grown to about 2,500.00 I understand that they can add collection fees and attorney fees but once an account is charged off by the OC can it still be an interest bearing account? And are there any guidelines to that?

Yes, per the original CC agreement, they can charge interest, but only what's specified in the agreement. If they go beyond that, then they could be in violation of state usuary laws.
