What is the name of your state?Mi.
In 2002 I filed,3 credit cards and a loan included in filing.I asked if I could pay the loan to start building credit again and the lawyer claimed it all had to be filed. My car loan was the only exception for obvious reasons. In April of 2002 I received my discharge papers. Now the bank I originally wanted to pay-off has been reporting charge-off for the last 3+ years.Never sent me anything, called or even attempted to collect, probably due to filing.Unfortunately I can only find my filed copy of the papers but thanks to this site I found the PACER link to obtain copies of the discharge,my question is this:
Is it possible the loan was not discharged even though all the other loans were?

If you didn't sign a reaffirmation agreement, then the debt WAS discharged along with the rest.

If that is the case, then you need to dispute what is being reported. If the account was NOT in charge-off status BEFORE you filed, they cannot report it as a charge-off AFTER your BK as that would NOT be accurate as of your filing date and that date nails the last status date.

They should be reporting 'included in bankruptcy', ZERO balance and no lates or other derogatory remarks after your BK. If that is not the case, dispute, dispute until it is corrected.
