charged with 562.111 Possession of alcohol under 21

We live in Florida by the way.. My son admitted to bringing alcohol on the school bus for him and his best friend.. anyways.. both boys consumed the alcohol and my son's friend got caught with the bottle. My son is being charged with the crime and not his buddy. The school suspended the boys at the same amount of time and the resource officer(Santa Rosa County Deputy) told both parents that he was not arresting the boys for telling the truth anyways.. he put a warrent on my son.. not the other child. The Deputy did not give a breath alizer test to either boys nor did he smell alcohol on either boys.. How can my son be charged for possession of alcohol under 21 if he wasn't caught with the alcohol?? Please help me understand!!!!What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Understand what, that your son's friend is not being charged? There is not always equity in the law. Your son brought alcohol on the school bus. Your son drank. Your son is being charged.

Remember when your kid came home and complained to you about the teacher not being fair and you told him that he needed to only worry about himself and his actions? Well this is another one of those times, the only difference is that you have to be reminded of it as well.

(c) He admitted it.

Why are you more concerned with the fact that life isn't fair than with the fact that your son seems to have a problem with alcohol?

Thank you for expressing your thoughts clearly. Yes my son did all three and thank you for noticing that. Never said life isn't fair. Just wanted to understand the law. No harm in gaining knowledge so I can help my son understand why his friend didn't get into trouble. You made your point on that one. He will learn from his mistake and know not to make it again. As for the other child.. who cares.. he will learn one day.

you can always tell him to stop talking to the police if hes going to commit crimes. Sounds like he talked himself into a conviction. Cops arent clergy, wiccan priestesses (most of them anyway), or a friend.
