What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

I have recently ran into an issue in my schooling. I am pursuing a degree, and am currently in my junior year. However, this term I was disallowed from taking my courses. The hold up has been taking place for a couple weeks now. Technically, I am enrolled, however I am failing out. The school locked me out, because of a hold up in processing my financial aid. I submit the forms they need, yet they continue to request more. This would not be of concern if I was not taking zero credit on all of the assignments and missing out on the classes. Essentially, I need to know what to do for this term. Do they have the ability to charge me for courses that I am disallowed from taking? Secondly, my GPA will drop due to this situation, is it right for them to do this? Thank you in advanced for the help!

How far into the term are you? Have you attended any classes? Can you still withdraw from the classes without penalty?

What has your class adviser said about the delay in processing the financial aid?

I was locked out of courses the first week. I should clarify that these are online courses. I am currently beginning the fourth week of classes. My student advisor has forwarded all my questions to the financial funding department. The financial funding department has essentially ignored my concerns of classes, and gone on to address off-topic matters. I am too late for withdrawing from courses, however I was told this lock out was supposed to be lifted a long time ago.
