"cheater!" he says

What is the name of your state? North Carolina.
Hello, my name is Jim. I’m a student at western carolina university. Last week in physics I got a little pissy with a guy because he was sitting in my friends seat. (to the right of my chair) The guy is a real prick. He sits in a different seat most days, usually in someone else’s seat. We don’t have "assigned seat" but its just common courtesy to not sit in someone else’s chair. Anyway, I was having 'one of those days' and walked into class and saw the jerk in my buds seat. I tiredly asked, "why are you sitting in marshal’s seat man, he sits there every F***'n day?" The guy flips out and we got in a verbal fight for a minute then it was over. He stayed; I didn’t really care, just annoyed. The day happened to be an exam day. I got through about 15 questions when the jerk publicly got the professors attention and went on to accuse me of cheating and communicating with the girl to the left of me. This guy publicly humiliated me in front of my professor and my peers and may have damaged my reputation. Is this case of slander worth settling in court? Thanks :(

Meet him on the playground and beat the crap out of him, or tell his parents or let your girlfriend do the beatdown.

Otherwise, GROW THE HELL UP. This is not a legal issue.

I am in college as well, and I think this is ridiculous. You could have just ignored him or moved to a different seat. Who really cares where you sit anyways? It's not that big of a deal.

Your responses to this thread show a large lack of maturity and understanding about living in the real world.

I would suggest you go back to mommy and daddy until you've at least learned to spell at a fifth-grade level.

It's LYING not lieing
