What exactly is a chemical assessment?

After having my court appearance today, I left promptly to the "probation reporting center". I filled out a simple form, scheduled my 2 appointments and was on my way. I wanted to beat traffic. Now I'm back home, it's evening, and I'm wondering what a 125 dollar chemical assessment is at the moment.
