What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MO
We bought an engine from the local Chevy dealer 2 years ago and had it installed by our mechanic who is a certified GM mechanic. The engine blew up on April 18th. They have said it is covered under warranty,. My question is do we have any way to speed this up? The truck is my husband's work vehicle. For a month now he has been driving mine putting a lot of hard wear on it (matter of fact has to go into the shop today). We are literally one break down from my husband losing his job.

We bought the engine from Chevy assuming that if anything went wrong they would take care of us. For the first 3 weeks Chevy was going back and forth on who was going to install the new one. Finally Chevy says they lost the warranty paperwork so they will do it. We had to get the truck to the Chevy garage and here it has sat unmoved for a over a week. My husband stopped yesterday and was told there were 2 motors ahead of him so they have no idea when they will get to it.

Thank you for any advice,
Vickie

Frankly, I'm surprised that you got GM to agree to pay for any installation costs...

The way to speed this up is to talk to the shop that is working on your truck. Perhaps you can offer them a financial incentive to move you to the head of the line. Alternatively, find another shop who will do the job more quickly.

Lol..If I had the money I would. Don;t think anyone is going to rent me a vehicle to run a mail route.
Maybe you need to borrow the money.

I'm just trying to highlight that the problems with the job are not going to be Chevy's responsibility, nor are they going to give you latitude to get the work done faster (unless the mechanic is unusually sympathetic)
