I have joint custody of my two year old son with his mother. My son resides with myself. My son was abused by his mother's boyfriend. He was struck in the head. He was charged with abuse and sentenced to probation and anger management classes, which he has completed. A no contact order was implemented. My son has resided with me for 13 months. My child's mother has a visitation plan, via court, but rarely takes him. On June 7, 2002, she and her boyfriend, with whom she resides, are going to court to remove the no contact order. I am gravely concerned with the possibility that this child abuser will be aloud to be in contact with my child. I am scared and do not know what I can do to prevent this from occurring. I have documented my son's mother's infrequent visitation. I would like to believe the courts would not allow this child abuser to be in contact with my son with whom he has no relation, however I want to be safe. What are my options and how can I prevent my fear from becoming a reality?
