What is the name of your state?Fl

Ok I didn't exactly know where to put this.

My youngest child is 4 and is in an all-day child care while I go to school full time and work part time. Like the YMCA requests, I keep extra clothes there for him in case of emergencies. Well today I was unable to pick up my child, so my sister picked him up. He was wearing clothes that did not belong to him, nor were they the extra clothes I provided him. They told my sister that when he brings these clothes ( some other childs) back,....then he can have his clothes. I assume that they probably gave some other child my child's extra clothes who did not have any extra ( not that I really mind)...But all the same, I do not believe it is thier right to *demand* I bring these clothes back *before* I get my childs (soiled) clothes back ( not the extra ones). I know this sounds petty..But I am a single mother that does everything I can to get my life back in order... without the aide of tax payers... after being in a DV relationship ( I was a stay at home mom previous to my escape). I do not have a lot of money to spend on clothes. I am doing my best to make ends meet.

I am sorry but this doesn't seem right. I had extra clothes for him there. I tried to call them to see what was going on and present the fact that my child should not be wearing any other child's clothes...he has his own extra clothes there for this pourpose. Unfortunately, they claim when I called (per message) the phone is not working. I called the main office..they tried to transfer me...but there was only an answering machine... yet again. I called again to the main office...and they say that they don't know whats going on. That they will have someone call back. I am still waiting...and they close at 6:00pm

First question....Do I have the right to demand my childs (soiled) clothes back at time of pick up reguardless of whose clothes he is wearing...especially when I provided extra clothes? And considering my child's extra clothes are never returned?

Second question and more importantly...I would assume that they are violating some sort of safety code if the day care does not have phones that work? ..I understand things happen...but this is not the first time in a months time that BOTH incidents have happened.

I am just fed up I guess.

Sorry edited for gramatical errors...I am not the best typer.

I guess I just don't see the clothing thing as that big a deal. Mine used to come home in other stuff fairly regularly. I'd wash it, and return it. Eventually, their own clothes would come back. I'd likely just pick up some inexpensive stuff from Walmart or a thrift shop for spares and not worry about it.

The phones - it's entirely possible that the class wasn't in the room at the time, isn't it? Or the ringer was off due to naptime. When mine were little, I'd shut off the ringer if I really didn't want them woken up. I could still call out.

I appreciate your response.

Sorry my reply came so late....I recently had an event happen that makes this seem.......just as you said....trivial as hell.

I no longer see this as an "event" I need to concern myself about.

On the 11th, I was held hostage for an hour while I was sexually assaulted by a convenience store owner. The police were informed and I was met with immediate disbelief...It was only when witnesses came forward and detectives looked at 911 calls ( that witnesses called in) that I was finally taken seriously. I have experienced this event and thought I did the right thing by notifying authorities....Just to have them greet me with disbelief, it was very discouraging However the store owner is now being held on sexual assault and wrongful inprisonment (?...I think that is the aditional charge for keeping me held hostage) ...I do not tell you this because I want sympathy...but yet because now I see that there are so many more important things in life besides this trivial issue that I have put before you. I am so sorry and embarrassed to have even posted this issue.

Thank you for your time... I am sorry I wasted it.

Not to worry - things often don't seem trivial when you're in the midst of them. Sometimes takes an outside perspective, ya know?

I'm glad that you weren't injured, and that you're being taken seriously - that must have been very frightening.

I'd like to say that I am OK(I think I am).....But I don't know. I have counseling, so if I am not... hopefully I will be soon.

Thanks for your concern and replies..... I appreciate it.

Take care Stealth2.
