i live in south carolina. i have two children, they live with their mother. my oldest son, 16, and his brother, 12, are wanting to live with me. do they have a choice as to where they want to live? if so, how do we make this happen?

You petition the court for custody and then hope,

a) The judge allows the children to be heard
b) They have a good reason why they want to live with you, other than 'mom makes us clean our rooms but dad does not'.
